Reynolds spent sixteen months in residence at the Kansas State Penitentiary for fraud and this is his account. Included are several sketches of fellow inmates and guards, as well as the sufferings of hard labor. A scarce item. Adams missed it in Six-Guns and Saddle Leather (although he does list Reynolds' second book on prison life), it appears in none of the usual bibliographies, and the Eberstadts never offered it.
