Tourist's Handbook; Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico.

NY: Press of American Bank Note Company, 1887. 56pp, [10pp of advts], folding map. Original printed wrappers. A couple of minor creases to the wrappers, original travel agent stamp on front cover, else very good. A guide to the important stops along the route of the D&RG. It is almost all devoted to Colorado, only two locales in New Mexico are described (Ojo Caliente, and Espanola and vicinity_ and three pages on Utah. Actually the advertising is as interesting as the text, mostly hotels and transportation lines. One double page advert for preserved foods is a bright color lithograph. The nice sized folding map (14.5 by 17.5 inches) is the familiar depiction of the line in black with sepia topography. Although common, this is an early example in excellent condition that is seldom seem in situ. Item #4679
