The Great Western Series, Nos. 1-13.

Washington: NP, 1967-75. 13 pamphlets from 16 to 42 pages, most 26-28pp. All are very good to near fine, one with a crease at the spine being the most serious fault. Here are a baker's dozen short pieces on various aspects of western history, the one exception being a book of poems on the west. Most are by non-professionals, although Frederic G. Renner writes on Charles Marion Russell and Jeff Dykes on Lincoln County lawmen. Other pieces are on two Texas Rangers, Charlie Siringo, the Snake River, Lewis and Clark, and so on. The write up says they constitute an, "Éoriginal and valuable addition to the literature of the West," and I suppose so. The lot. Item #26723
