A Century of Freemasonry in New Mexico.

Santa Fe: N/P;, 1951. 94pp, illus. Blue decorated plush hardcovers. Near fine. Depending on your level of paranoia, Freemasons are either 1) a convivial group of like-minded men devoted to socializing and public service, or 2) a sinister cabal dedicated to world domination. This volume is a celebration of #1 and the first 100 years of the group's history in New Mexico. There is a list of leaders going back to Charles Bent and Kit Carson, who rates a full page biography, and descriptions of the various lodges throughout the territory and late in the state. Many photos of members - unlikely for a sinister cabal - and various meeting places from a dugout in Fort Sumner to the massive pink temple in Santa Fe. Undoubtedly a scarce publication done for members. Item #26507
