A Biographical Cyclopedia of Interesting Personalities.

Dallas: The Who's Who Publishing Company, N/D. ca. 1936). 236pp, illus. Quarto. Elaborately figured boards, some wear to extremities, else very good. The half title is Who's Who in Texas. I suspect a vanity publication, that is, you pays yer money and an obituary writer waxes effusive about your prosperous, upstanding Christian character. The large majority of the more than one hundred biographies are of doctors, lawyers, and businessmen. I noticed a very few cattlemen and even fewer women. Many are in fact obituaries, since several articles are posthumous, no doubt sponsored by grieving families. An interesting look into the lives of upper middle class Texans between the world wars.
