Southwest.

Boston: Privately printed, 1931. Deckle edged, some cockling on ffep, previous owner's nameplate, else good. "This is the story of seven thousand one hundred and fifty-two miles on mules and horses, by train and motorcar and riding the clouds in quest of pictures in a strange and far-away land." Or so says the introduction to this privately printed account of two chaps from Boston who spent a summer traveling through the southwest. Starting in Santa Fe they visited Pueblos and ruins, went west to the Navajo and Hopi reservations, south as far as Gila Bend, and north to Rainbow Bridge. Most of the expedition was by Harvey Couriercar with a guide and driver, so they suffered little in the way of privation. Some fifteen photos (reproduced in half tone) are tipped in. A scarce and interesting first hand account of early tourism. Item #26161
