Spine faded to brown, some soil and wear to extremities, insect damage to cloth on back board, internally clean and very good. Covers the natural history of all Cetaceans, with a general section on comparative anatomy and chapters on 17 genera of whales. Chapter on the Greenland whale describes general knowledge about the species as taken from literature of other authors. Coverage includes general description, bones, hearing, swimming, breaching, respiration, diving, food and feeding, gestation, lactation, maturation, maternal behavior, distribution, and history of whaling and description of whale hunting techniques in the eastern Arctic.
