Spine slightly faded, gilt on front board still bright, previous owner's bookplate and gift insc, overall very good. This is a survey of geography and culture based on a German work. The section on the United States (pp1-285) was "edited and enlarged" by Hayden. Much on geology - naturally - with chapters on history, politics, and Indians and more. The rest of the book by Selwyn deals with Canada. Apparently, the editors did not consider Mexico a part of North America. Item #24623
