London: Printed for Sir Richard Phillips, 1819. First edition. [iv], 76pp, 6 plates. Later full leather binding with some fading around the edges. Light internal browning, scattered foxing to one plate, overall very good. M'Keevor was a physician at Dublin's Lying-In Hospital, and had accompanied the Earl of Selkirk's 1812 expedition to Hudson's Bay as a medical attendant. There he travelled to "Esquimaux" country, survived a "frightful season," and made scientific observations of polar bears, ice fields, the aurora borealis, the Inuit and Ojibway languages, crafts, and housing.
