Adney was sent by Harper's Weekly to report first hand on the Alaska gold rush, and in this detailed account of the history and circumstance little seems to have missed his eye. He describes incompetent officials, gambling, inflated prices, and the rare miners who struck it rich. Plentifully illustrated, with nice fold out views of Dawson's main street, as well as panoramic overviews of Dawson, Bonanza Creek and Skagway. Item #23891
