Handbook of Indian Dances.

Santa Fe: Pictograph Press by D. N. S., 1950. (16pp), illus. Printed wrappers. Wraps slightly soiled, internally bright and near fine. Stewart was among the group of wealthy, cultured, bohemian women who gravitated to New Mexico in the 1920's and `30's. They dabbled in the arts, cultural preservation, and philanthropy some making significant contributions. This little booklet by Stewart is done in hand set type, with two and three color block print illustrations. There are seven full page (about 8.5 x 6.5 inches) prints depicting Indian dances adapted from Pueblo paintings at the Museum of New Mexico. They are not sophisticated, but dramatic in their way. Scarce, particularly in such nice condition. Item #23028
