This mug book bills itself as a reference for newspapers, although that seems a little doubtful since there are no page numbers, there is no index, and the biographies are not in alphabetical order. The large part of the book (perhaps 280 pages) consists of photos as short bios of (white) business men. The majority are in oil and gas production with lawyers heavily represented. The descriptions - provided by the subjects themselves - are remarkably free of superlatives and hyperbole. Another 70 or so pages are photos of homes, and businesses. Again, oil production facilities are well represented, but in addition there is a mortuary, a couple of railroads, a grain mill, auto dealerships, and an ice cream factory. A window into the commercial life of Oklahoma only ten years after statehood. Item #20330
