Acts passed at the Second Session of the Twenty Second Congress.

Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1833. 125, 63, 31pp. Printed wrappers, mostly unopened, some external soiling, else very good. President Andrew Jackson. The acts and resolutions passed by the United States Congress (both House and Senate) during the first decades of the nineteenth century include some of the defining actions of the founders of the country, but at least as interesting is the minutia of operating a government at a time when legislators were still making it up as they went along. Included in this volume are fourteen Indian treaties. Almost all deal with land cessions and with relocation, i.e. the origins of the "Trail of Tears." Item #19435
