Life in Utah; Or, The Mysteries and Crimes of Mormonism.
Philadelphia: National Publishing Company, 1870. 540pp, illus, folding map. Rebound in gray cloth, map with several misfolds but complete, a stain at the gutter of the final 60 or so pages is unattractive but does not obliterate text. Thus, a complete, tight and useful copy of the first edition. The title continues, "ÉBeing an expose of the Secret Rites and Ceremonies of the Latter-Day Saints with a full and authentic history of polygamy and the Mormon sect from its origin to the present time." Beadle was edition of the Salt Lake Reporter who took a dim view of Mormonism in general and polygamy in particular. Flake 344. Item #19062
