Flora of New Mexico.

Washington: Government Printing Office, 1915. 794pp. Rebound in black cloth, clean and very good. From the introduction: "This flora of New Mexico is a list of all the species of phanerogams and vascular cryptogams at present known to occur within the State, with keys to the families, genera, and speciual." (Phanerogams are plants that reproduce by means of seeds, vascular cryptogams are plants that reproduce by means of spores.) The present list presents some 2,975 species, but the authors warn that it will be expanded as botanists explore the southeastern and southwestern corners and the high mountains along the Colorado line. Still, this is a foundation work. Item #18487
