The introductory page and preface by Dobie describes this as a Special Edition for the Texas Folk-Lore Society. John Jenkins says that the Texas Folk Society series is the most comprehensive assemblage of folklore relating to Texas as well as being one of the longest series of books published in that great state. This has chapters on birds and beasts, wind and weather, the genesis and adventures of Pecos Bill, and others including the ever popular "Pizenous Windies." Item #17847
