by Blake, William P.
iv, 369pp. Original printed front wrapper. Spine reinforced and new back wrap. Front wrap chipped and worn but intact. Some browning and edge chipping to the text block, but the pages are clean and almost completely unopened. The extended title continues, "ÉBeing Statistical Notices of the Principal Gold and Silver Producing Regions of the World Represented at the Paris Universal Exposition." Blake was the Commissioner (of what?) from the State of California at the Paris Universal Exposition, 1867. The report has major sections on gold, silver, platinum and other rare metals, as well as on the production and consumption of gold and silver. In all, a very detailed study of the production of precious metals with much on the United States, but representing many other parts of the world as well.
