Texas and Southwestern Lore. Publications of the Texas Folk-Lore Society, Number VI.
by Dobie, J. Frank, ed.

Publisher Information:
Austin: The Texas Folk-Lore Society, 1927.

259pp. Blue cloth. A little dusty else near fine. This is an early volume in the Texas Folklore Society Publications. John Jenkins says the series is the most comprehensive assemblage of folklore relating to Texas as well as being one of the longest series of books published in that great state. The society's publications contain not only folklore and folktales but scholarly contributions on Texas and southwestern history, ethnology, linguistics, biography, music and dance. This volume is particularly strong on cowboy songs and has two articles by J. Evetts Haley.
